In FUNPASOS coordinates the project Green Circular Economy in the Valley of the Árrago (EVC-Árrago) within the framework of the Plan of Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience (NextGeneration EU) that has as its main purpose to fight against forest fires and depopulation in our land.
Objectives
The strategic objective of EVC-Árrago is to ensure the conditions of forest management to improve forest fire prevention. In turn, achieve a better protection of the soil against erosion processes, regulation of the hydrological regime, the mitigation of the effects of Climate Change, preserving biodiversity, as well as to contribute to rural development in our Valley.
In addition, we have the following specific objectives:
-Create a framework for the participation open to the public, (arragoparticipa.com) that facilitates the incorporation of new agents in the primary sector and with that, we will prepare a Plan of Management of the Landscape-Civil Population of the Valley of the Árrago.
-Regenerating the mosaic landscape of Alto Extremadura as a guarantee of resilience to climate change, forest fires, and the abandonment of agricultural activity.
-Innovate in traditional agroforestry practices in the mountain forest ecoregion of western and northwestern Iberia, conserving biodiversity and generating green and circular economies.
Expected results
Through the above objectives, we seek the following results:
– The development of a Geoportal that contains mapping of the risk of fire forest in the geographic scope of the project.
– Preparation and review of Management Plans and Plans for the Prevention of Forest Fires in the Protectors Mountains in the scope of the project.
– The development of Training Plans, Training, and the celebration of Days of Governance between agents of the territory.
– Implementation of pilot experiences on innovative subericultura and the planting of new species in the territory for their use.
– To create an accelerator of projects and a coworking space.
– Attract and fix population in the territory through the implementation of future uses with the capacity to use the endogenous resources of this area.
